I recently released the BCB_Code_Generator v1.62 and v2.10 with complete TDx_Library v1.62 databases...!!! I just released the TDx_Library v1.80 for FREE...!!! Updated July 2008!!! Also, I recently uploaded a whole bunch of old software I wrote which was just sitting useless on my HDD... More to come... FREE Software Downloads Area About Free Software Downloads Area ... Please read this message... and take note of how far I have worked in the past 11.5+ years... The TDx_Library started life as the TDirectDrawForm available in the FREE Software Downloads area. TDirectDrawForm v1.0 The TDirectDrawForm evolved to here, the TDirectX Library, first ever public release of any TDirectX or TDx_Library, or anything similar. Just DirectDraw, a single, very very primitive TDx_Draw component... and the actual TDirectDrawForm... TDirectX Library v1.0 And now, look at it all, the entire lot of it :- http://bcb-tools.com & the BCB_Code_Generator and the TDx_Library and the TDx9_Library ... 8,000++ webpages, 200 Mb of component libaries, etc... This Open Letter is a heartfelt appeal to you, our visitor, from me, darren john dwyer, the guy who has spent the last 11.5+ years working all day every day on BCB-Tools.com and the TDx_Library and the TDx9_Library and the BCB_Code_Generator... The guy who created everything TDx!!! All for negative money... no real financial reward... nothing... :( In fact, this thing has cost me 11.5+ years of life and my money for nothing... :( ... Everyone who has followed BCB-Tools.com for a few years knows that i am flat broke and struggling to keep the BCB-Tools.com website and the TDx_Library and the TDx9_Library alive... and under development... First, the TDx_Library v1.90+ is a whole serious lot of work, hundreds, thousands of hours of work each version improvement... Second, the TDx9_Library v1.00+ is a whole lot more serious work todo, literally 25+ Megabytes of component library source code... Then try getting a TDx10_Library for Windows Vista done... while Borland and CodeGear and Microsoft ignore you at best, and try to kill you repeatedly... I have gone backwards financially for over 11.5+ years, pouring all my time, effort and money into BCB-Tools.com with the aim of providing some amazing programming tools to the global C++ Builder community, mainly so that Borland would not let C++ Builder die... and Microsoft would not let the older computers die... Because of circumstances beyond my control, ie. lack of registrations or investment money, I are currently so broke that I am barely interested in anything todo with www.BCB-Tools.com... and it's costing me lots of money i could otherwise use to live on... Is that what what you want? Minimal progress at BCB-Tools.com for the next 6-12 months or more? at a minimum? Or, would you like me to have the money to buy better food and pay the bills a little easier? Finally, how about this, after 11.5+ years, maybe i could possibly even one day make a small profit from all my hard dedicated work? Of course, if there was some real-world SALES or SPONSORSHIP, or some kind of income for me, everything would be different. If I could earn just (1) registration per week, really not all that much, then i can afford to live and can continue working full-time on the TDx_Library and TDx9_Library and TDx10_Library and BCB_Code_Generator and BCB-Tools.com... Is this really so hard? We get over 300-400+ people visiting BCB-Tools.com EVERY DAY... Is (1) registration a week too much to ask of the Borland Community? I don't get it, you pay US$500-5000 or more for C++ Builder, yet no-one can be bothered paying just a little bit more (US$200) to have the most powerful tookit sofar created for using DirectX in C++ Builder... It also keeps me in wages and pathetic living standards, all so i can continue working my arse off to get everything TDx done? What's in it for me? the guy who's been working on this continuously for 11.5+ years, for no money, negative return, 11.5+ years programming time, all wasted it seems. ... I am so bloody frustrated... and lonely, and almost bankrupt... ... Can you please help me? Please give me some money, urgently... You can take everything at BCB-Tools.com as living, breathing PROOF that I can do the work, and that i promise to continue working flat-out on everything TDx as long as possible, but I really truly need some money. Otherwise everything TDx and TDx9 and TDx10 and BCB_Code_Generator will go nowhere. You know, for 11.5+ years I have been working on BCB-Tools.com day-in, day-out, struggling the entire time to keep it alive and make it work. Why? Because I truly believe I have created something more powerful than anything that has been invented before... At least, as far as software development tools go... and i'd really like the opportunity to see where these kind of development tools can take us in future... At the start, before BCB-Tools.com, all was ok. I had a good job, I was saving up money to buy a new car and a house, and I always had the bills paid... Then I quit my job and started BCB-Tools.com, thinking it was a much greater opportunity for me personally, a way to work indendantly and create a reasonable living for myself... So I poured in my time, my effort, my money, other people's money, all in the plan to make BCB-Tools.com viable... ...and make the TDx_Library the pre-eminent programming tool of choice for all Borland C++ Builder users... Then, in 2001-2003, years ago, I ran out of money, and ended up a miserable wreck, a mental breakdown, completely psychotic, struggling to survive... earning less than US$0.25c per hour from all my work on BCB-Tools.com... compared to earning about US$30-40 per hour in a "normal" job... Now, after at least 11.5 years of TDx_Library programming, I have now completely run out of money... I have nothing more to give, simple as that... ... Ever since about 2003, years ago, I have been flat broke, living an incredibly minimalist lifestyle, just working away, hoping that one-day it would all pay off for me, and make me rich enough to actually earn a minimal wage, something I cannot do normally, because I am mentally ill, schizophrenic... living on a disability support pension which is 25% of the average weekly single wage, and paying extraordinarily high rent and bills and food, etc. just to keep BCB-Tools.com alive from week to week and from year to year. All I can really do is what I do, the BCB-Tools.com and TDx_Library thing, and a few other eccentric ideas, such as http://www.cure-for-death.com and http://darren-john-dwyer.com The problem is, even though the TDx_Library is incredibly successful, with THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of users, at least 7500 before i stopped registering email addresses and 14000+ copies downloaded sofar, I cannot earn an income from it, for no reason i can figure except that people seem to want everything for free, regardless of the consequences... ... This puzzles and frustrates me beyond belief... what do i have to do to make a reasonable income from all my hard work? When I try to sell my components, nobody ever buys them. Indeed, in 11.5+ years, i have averaged about 1 sale a month (at most)... an income of about US$25 per week, for all the thousands and thousands of hours work i put in each year... BUT, When I give away my components for FREE (the new ones, even the really old and buggy ones), people download them by the THOUSANDS of copies... Just the first day of free release of v1.80, over 400 copies of my tools were downloaded... in the first 24 hours since making them free... ... Why is this? What am i doing wrong? What am i supposed todo to earn an income? I have tried dropping the price, i have tried raising the price, i have tried appealling to all 7500+ end-users, repeatedly... only to be completely and utterly ignored by all 7500+ end-users... as well as being ignored by up to 31,000+ visitors each month... I have even given away the latest versions for FREE, by the THOUSANDS of copies, unhindered by a FREE Sign-Up process, hoping people would download and use and value the libraries and ultimately repay us something for all the money and time and effort we have expended actually creating the libraries... Imagine working around-the-clock, 7 days a week for 7 years straight, without a holiday... Then a few more years at 60-80 hours each week, all for US$negligible... But nothing works... Sure, if they are FREE, THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of copies are downloaded and used. BUT when they cost anything at all, even US$25 the lot, nobody registers. Why is this? I continuously change the website, keeping everything current and modern, but this doesn't work... I continuously work on updates, and improvements, and more information, but this doesn't work either... I try my best to make sure everything works first time every time, perfect... no more hassles, but making this happen doesn't work either... If there are any problems, I bend over backwards to fix them, with unlimited email support, but this doesn't help... ... What am i doing wrong? ... Any suggestions? Please, if you have any ideas why the entire bloody Borland C++ Builder community refuses to pay for my tools, then tell me... We know the tools are brilliant, A1 rated, 5+ stars and all that... so we know theres no problems with the actual libraries... ... Maybe it's just that over a THOUSAND people visiting each day is just not enough? ... Maybe you could help me tell all 1,000,000+ Borland C++ Builder users about my tools. Thats gotta help somehow. ... Maybe you could see your way to giving me some money somehow? ... I don't care about the money that much, it's just a means to an end, i really just care about BCB-Tools.com and the investment i've already put into the TDx_Library and the TDx9_Library and the BCB_Code_Generator... I'd really hate to see it all die, just because corporations like Microsoft and Borland and CodeGear are greedy pigs, and most of my visitors are similarly inclined... ... Help Me in any way you can. Please. I'm at a loss of what todo, my situation is critical and very dire. ... Look, even a US$20 donation is better than nothing, and it's a load of money to me... My plan is simple, I'm gonna try to tough it out for the next while... Before i'm forced to quit, i'd like to get RAD DirectX 9 support available... Other than that, the problem is that it's Thousands and Thousands of FREE downloads... with people using the software and requesting email support, but still no registrations, no pre-registrations, no investment, no sponsors, nothing... The TDx_Library is indeed very successful, and should only grow into the future... we have great plans... Just, please help us by giving us some money for our efforts at creating the best software development toolsets on the planet... 14,000+ unique end-users of the TDx_Library (450++ downloads in the first 24 hours of releasing the TDx_Library v1.80 for FREE) 300-1,200+ unique visitors per day... 10,000-31,000+ visitors per month... 300,000-400,000+ hits per month... 20+ Gig per month downloads... All for near ZERO monetary return... after 11.5+ years of daily continuous dedicated effort... When is something finally going to change? When will i actually get some money for my efforts? When are people finally going to begin paying me something >anything< ... ? I just don't get it. This really sux. Investors and Partners Wanted... Registered Users Wanted...
