I don't know how compiler you must focused (my opinion it's BCB it's better) but since i used the borland compilers...(Turbo C in MS-DOS) i know my programs do just i want....(another thing it's sometimes you wrote bad code with implementation errors)
The comming of BCB RAD environment....it's really the true visual technology.....other things are simply "attempts" to do this kind of programming....or in worst cases, simply "rippers/bad immitation" from Borland innovations in this field.
Also, BCB have some tricks, because, manage all this stuff automatically, it's a bit hard.....for this reason, you must know some about "coding" for check and revise automations of IDE (sometimes...you delete a component, but it's declaration reamins in the files....it's not complete erased...and this kind of things
usually...at runtime level....the applications manages automatically the assign/free of memory variables...etc...in some cases....but in my opinion, this is like put your airplane in "auto pilot" and wait they make ALL by you....
Anyway, Darren is working hard in newest TDx-9 Library and i'm helping in some ways (like spanish translation) without any money reward, because i "believe" in this proyect....
ah, relative due the wrapper....i think it's better "lost" a bit of speed in hands of "easy" to code complex software
may be with the VC compiler you have more speed....but as it's has been seen....coding DX apps in VC it's like a endless nightmare.
TDx-Library with BCB it's significantly "soften" for begginers to programming....but also have the complex/advanced features for proffesional people....as described in website "for begginers and advanced users"
regards
