    STRIDE AND PITCH

    [ TDx_Draw_Library ]     [ next: Surface ]     [ prev: Stretching and Shrinking ]

Stride is the same thing as pitch and is the distance, in bytes, between the start of one bitmap line and the start of the next.
Stride alignment dictates how surfaces are to be assigned memory. For example: Some surfaces may require the stride to be set to a Qword multiple.
Pitch or stride is different to memory width, which is the distance, in bytes, from the start of a bitmap line to its end.
